  • Staind’s Aaron Lewis will end the year on the road, minus the rest of his bandmates.  The singer will perform solo acoustic dates beginning December 22nd at the Verona (NY) Turning Stone Resort.  (see ON THE BUS)
  • Tool has started mixing their next album.  The disc is tentatively slated for a spring release.
  • Bono met up with former North Carolina senator Jesse Helms for a lunch before the band’s Charlotte concert this week.  The two men discussed DATA’s latest efforts to increase awareness of debt, AIDS, and trade in Africa.
  • She Wants Revenge are currently out making the most of year-end touring by promoting their forthcoming self-titled release.  Look for the group tonight in Denton, Texas.  “She Wants Revenge” arrives in stores January 31st.  (see ON THE BUS)
  • Congrats to KoRn.  The band’s “Greatest Hits, Vol. 1” album has just been certified platinum by the RIAA.
  • Silverstein has lined up a brief headlining trek for February.  Dates and venues will be announced shortly, but the band has revealed that Stretch Arm Strong, Spitalfield, and The Audition will play alongside the group.
  • Pilotdrift has snagged the opening slot on Supergrass’ forthcoming North American trek.  The Texarkana outfit will hook up with the U.K. rockers February 6th in Toronto.  Pilotdrift is promoting their debut disc, “Water Sphere.”  (see ON THE BUS)
  • The Crystal Method has completed their score to the upcoming film, London.  The soundtrack, with eight new Crystal Method compositions, will be in stores January 24th.
  • Hard-Fi is coming!  The U.K. rockers, who teased audiences with the “Cash Machine” EP earlier this year, will offer their breakout album “Stars Of CCTV” in the States March 14th.  Look for the lads rocking venues across the States in January.
  • The Original Sinners, featuring X’s Exene Cervenka, are back with their sophomore set.  “Sev7en” drop sin stores March 7th, featuring such tracks as “Last Dance,” “Tavern,” “Good At Being Bad,” “Long Distance,” “Down Where It’s Down,” “Lonesome War,” and “Ghost On The Highway.”
  • Presidents Of The United States Of America will play a New Year’s Eve show at Seattle’s Experience Music Project.  Meanwhile, The Juliet Dagger will join The Goo Goo Dolls for a New Year’s Eve gig in Las Vegas.
  • Ben Kweller is spending his holiday season behind the boards.  Kweller jetted off to France last weekend to produce some tracks for Pierre Guimard’s debut disc.
  • Mugison are working on the soundtrack to the upcoming film, Little Trip To Heaven.  Look for an April release.
  • The New York Dolls will enter the studio January 15th to work on their first album in years.  Jack Douglas (Aerosmith, John Lennon) has been tapped to produce.
  • Candiria guitarist John LaMacchia has rejoined the group to write and record new material.  LaMacchia, who left to focus on his Spylacopa project, will not tour with the group however. 
  • CKY will bring their raucous rock show to audiences next month, playing shows with breakout rockers Avenged Sevenfold.  The trek gets underway January 19th in Tucson.  (see ON THE BUS)
  • Crossfade will play a pair of year-end dates.  The boys will rock Orlando’s House Of Blues December 29th and Myrtle Beach’s House Of Blues on New Year’s Eve.
  • Henry Rollins will do his spoken word shtick on the 2006 Big Day Out festival.  Speaking of spoken words, Neil Young has been tapped as a keynote speaker at the 2006 South By Southwest music and media conference in Austin, Texas March 16th.
  • Norma Jean will offer a CD/DVD reissue of their latest album, “O’ God, The Aftermath,” in February.  The original release is up for a Best Recording Package GRAMMY.
  • Agnostic Front will release their DVD, “Live At CBGB,” in early 2006 thanks to a freshly-inked deal with Nuclear Blast Records.  The home video features performance footage, interviews, and a 23-minute documentary.
